Background/Aims
Out of the Darkness Theatre Company provides opportunities for people of all ages, in particular people with learning disabilities, to become involved in performance arts activities, especially drama and theatre.

Out of the Darkness are an Approved Training Centre and run Training Programmes in Performance and Technical Skills. They also provide arts experiences in Drama, Music and the Visual Arts for people with more profound needs. They are a company committed to Social Inclusion, Training, Partnerships and Working in the Community.

Out of the Darkness Theatre Company recently completed an exciting, collaborative project, Crie Out, bringing together Theatre Professionals and adults with learning difficulties.

Crie Out explored local roots, culture and identity through multi media and the performing arts.
Thanks to the Scottish Arts Council's Access & Participation Fund through the National Lottery, this specially commissioned multi media piece took art out into the community and allowed access for people isolated by disability and geography.

The premiere performance was held in Elgin on Friday 2nd November 2001 and attracted a large audience and the piece then toured locally to Findhorn, Lossiemouth, Fochabers.
