Illicit

ILLICIT

Illicit is a fast-paced comedy show about hard-nosed ambition, illicit whisky and perfume!  Scotching the rumour that business start-up is singularly dull, Illicit neatly blurs the boundaries between fantasy and reality with a deluxe blend of interactive comedy, mission statements and technical wizardry – 100% proof that the show will be a barrel of laughs!

Inspired by her brother’s romantic but unworkable idea, Winnie Grant has developed an innovative whisky-based product, bringing her the sweet smell of success and rich praise in the Highland Business community.  Her meteoric rise to prominence has been rewarded with the title of Young Enterprising Entrepreneur of the Year.  She has been invited to receive her award and then give a presentation to fellow industry professionals and VIP guests - the audience!

Utilising the latest technology and top-end presentational aids, proceedings run extraordinarily smoothly, until an unscheduled interruption forces Winnie to nip out for a moment – just long enough for the gremlins to get into the machine!  The true story of the young entrepreneur’s struggle then begins to unravel, almost as quickly as she does…

Illicit is a cautionary tale of one woman’s descent into business - a mature, hour-long drama, to be enjoyed and savoured in good company!

Illicit is written and directed by Euan Martin and Dave Smith from Moray-based Right Lines Productions.  In the last few years, the writers have been responsible for popular theatre shows such as “Who Bares Wins”, “The Accidental Death of an Accordionist”, “The Wedding” and “Watching Bluebottles.”  Most recently, their show “Whisky Kisses” came a very close second in the final of the Highland Quest for a new Musical.

The show is very adaptable, with minimal technical requirements. If an in-house projector and sound equipment are available, it would be preferable to use the venue’s facilities. Alternatively, all the necessary equipment can be provided by the company.

Please contact Euan Martin, Right Lines Productions for further details.

 "Who Bares Wins"

“Who Bares Wins"” successfully toured the Highlands and the North East from 27th Nov-18th Dec 2004.Written by Euan Martin and Dave Smith. Directed by Mark Saunders. Performed by Aylth McCormack and Ron Emslie. Stage management by Brian Gorman.

The story of one man's strip search for truth.

The rambler’s stop - start journey brings him ever closer to John o’ Groats. But just a wee bit further North, a whole community is waiting to see if he will go the extra mile to bring them the fame that is rightfully theirs.

A two-hander comedy that sees an evening of quick changes, non- stop action and a close look at the Scottish psyche.

"A tale of northern exposure"!
