TWO MAN RUMBLE
Bastille Taverne, Glasgow - 21st April
Dunoon Grammar School - 27th April

Physical comedy's answer to the Discovery Channel - Metro (2004) - Perhilion are delighted to announce the return of their socio-alcoholic comedy, Two Man Rumble, playing two exclusive dates in April, one in Glasgow and a homecoming to Dunoon, before heading off to the Prague Fringe in June.

In Glasgow the evening will also feature DJ sets from Edinburgh's Melvitronica and long time Perhilion collaborators The Marcia Blaine School For Girls, who will be premiering material from their much anticipated new album, Halfway Into The Woods.

In Two Man Rumble Alasdair Satchel teams up with the Alasdair Macrae to present us with the definitive and revealing exposé of that most enigmatic of creatures in its natural habitat: the Scottish male on his nocturnal migration from the pub to the kebab shop.
British Theatre Guide (2004)

Macrae narrates, David Attenborough style, leading us through a day in the life of Warren (Satchel), our everyman.  A human zoo of ageing studs, drunks, geezers and predatory girlfriends is laid bare in this disturbingly familiar habitat - the pub.  By looking at the archetypes of the male character, and how they interact, passing by way of gambling machines, pub theme nights, urinals and inebriation, Two Man Rumble provides a glimpse of what truly makes up a male homo erectus sapiens sapiens.  The play climaxes, as every stereotypically macho night must, with the fight to end all fights.  With kebab in hand and protrusive foreheads to the fore, our hero battles with the Alpha male of the pub to a surprisingly insightful conclusion.

Not for nothing has Alasdair Satchel gained his reputation as a consummate performer of physical theatre - Scotsman (2004)

Last seen with a work in progress on Luggage through the Playwrights Studio at the Arches,  Two Man Rumble follows Alasdair Satchel's critically acclaimed (5 stars in the Scotsman) One Man Rant.  He is joined this time by performer and musician Alasdair Macrae, a regular of the Scottish stage, recently returned from a Balkan and Far East tour of Lost Ones for Vanishing Point.

It features original music commissioned from Glasgow Electronic Underground group 'The Marcia Blaine School For Girls' whose new album Halfway Into The Woods is forthcoming on Highpoint Lowlife.

LUGGAGE

Arches, Glasgow (0141 565 1023) - Friday 13 January 2006, 4pm

[Extract from: Scotland on Sunday, January 8 2006, "Critic's Choice"]:

"Actor Alasdair Satchell is offering curious theatre-goers an opportunity not to be refused. Anyone with an hour to spare and willing to take a risk on this self-proclaimed work-in-progress will receive a front row seat gratis. Satchell is holding his production, Luggage, up for an early inspection this week. Billed as a part-scripted and part-devised piece of physical theatre, Luggage follows the journeys of two characters embarking on an unsteady romance, hampered by emotional baggage. Any production boasting the fruity and Muriel Spark-inspired ensemble 'The Marcia Blane School for Girls' as musical accompaniment is worth checking out".

August 2004
Two Man Rumble - at the Edinburgh Fringe
A new play about masculinity and the animal within the man...

JUNE 2004
One Man Rant  - at the Prague Fringe
Movement, mime, music, fruity puppetry and crafty vocals with much silliness leads to an unforgettable climax.

World premier of this energetic and original show was performed at the Ediburgh Fringe in 2002, from Scottish Lecoq-trained writer and performer Alasdair Satchel.

Al is twenty-something and is discontented with his grudge-some life and weird workmates, especially Fiona, who is having an affair with the office photocopying machine.

He takes refuge in gargantuan flights of office based fantasy, until his Dickensian boss, Mr Andouilette, sacks him and Al is forced to face his darkest demon.

The music is specially commissioned from the Glasgow based Electronic Underground group The Marcia Blaine School for Girls.
